Safe Renewables is committed to advancing research in biodiesel technology.  Throughout its history, the Company has invested in the search for new technologies, alternative fuels sources and more efficient processes to make biodiesel a viable fuel for today’s growing markets.

Safe Renewables is a founding member of the Southwest Biofuels Initiative, an international research consortium of government, industry and academic entities that studies biodiesel manufacturing and use.  Through the Houston Advanced Research Center, the SRC/Southwest Biofuels Initiative are conducting emissions and feedstock testing designed to evaluate the feasibility of turning various vegetable oils and animal fats into biodiesel.  SRC is already making headway using low-cost feedstock alternatives, both domestic and international, including Castor Oil, Jatropha, Palm Oil, Jojoba, Algae and Yellow Grease.
