The word biodiesel represents a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from renewable sources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, although it can be combined with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in standard diesel engines or generators with little or no modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, essentially free of sulfur and aromatics and can significantly reduce lifecycle CO2 emissions.
